We are super excited and thrilled to welcome back our previous research intern, Marx Yim, who has now officially joined us as a research assistant!

During his past internship, Marx has dabbled in various projects within our lab and also with our wider Forest Ecology Group. Some of you might still remember his amazing video on how we prepped our dung beetle specimens, or perhaps have seen his photos of soil invertebrates on Flickr. Apart from that, Marx and the other research interns were also involved in the filming and editing of Dr Kang Min's plant ID videos, and collecting leaf litter with Dr Estya.

Now as a research assistant, Marx's work is focused on dung beetles in Southeast Asia, particularly to provide stakeholders in the region with resources that enable both academic research and citizen science on the use of dung beetles as bioindicators. As you might have already known, Marx has a knack in using multimedia and visuals for science communication. So stay tuned for more exciting updates on his work here!
