We were honored to host Dr. Evan Quah from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) at the TEE Lab for an engaging and fruitful visit that sparked conversations across research disciplines and opened exciting opportunities for collaboration. Dr. Quah, a leading herpetologist known for his extensive work on Southeast Asian reptiles and amphibians, joined us for two days of activities, including the undergraduate field course briefing and seminars.
The highlight of his visit was a captivating seminar titled “Snakes of Malaysia: Past, Present, and Future Directions in Herpetological Research.” Dr. Quah took us on a journey through Malaysia’s rich snake diversity, exploring the historical foundations of herpetological research, current challenges in taxonomy, conservation, and ecology, as well as future directions for fieldwork and species discovery.

Dr. Quah also participated in our regular TEE Lab meeting, where he interacted with our lab members and learnt more about our ongoing projects. We are also excited to have Dr. Evan Quah join us for the upcoming field course at Danum Valley in May 2025. We are grateful for his time and enthusiasm in sharing his expertise, and we look forward to more collaborations in the near future.

Stay tuned for updates on our Danum Valley field course and more exciting research stories from the TEE Lab!
