Our recent study on butterfly diversity along road verges in Singapore was featured in Tamil Murasu!
It is exciting to see our work reaching diverse communities and raising awareness that small green spaces matter. By rethinking how we design and manage road verges, we can create spaces that meet urban needs while also supporting butterflies and other wildlife.

Our study found that even narrow strips of greenery along busy roads can provide valuable habitats for butterflies when managed well. Verges with diverse flowers and reduced trimming supported higher butterfly diversity — showing that these often-overlooked green spaces can make a big difference in supporting urban biodiversity
