The TEE Lab is extremely excited to welcome two new members into our lab! Calvin Leung Tsz-kin

Coming from Hong Kong, Calvin Leung Tsz-kin will be joining the TEE Lab as a PhD candidate and will be studying the importance of saproxylic (dead-wood dependent) beetles to our ecosystems by quantifying nutrient cycling associated to these insects and to reveal their novel role as bioengineers in tropical forests in Singapore and peat swamp forests in Brunei. Calvin Leung has a strong interest in insects, particularly for beetles. Prior to this, he completed his Masters at Imperial College London and his research involved understanding the ecology of stag beetles (Coleoptera: Licanidae) in Hong Kong. He also studied the relationship between habitat quality and availability to the distribution of different stag beetles in Hong Kong while he was completing his Bachelors at the University of Hong Kong.
Xu Xuan

Coming from Nanjing, Xu Xuan is a PhD candidate who will be joining the TEE Lab as an exchange student from the Carbon & Sustainable Forest Management (C&SFM) Lab from Nanjing Forestry University, China. Xu Xuan's research involves understanding the effects of soil fauna and in particular, focuses on forest litter decomposition and soil carbon cycling. She is also trying to include soil fauna module into emerging models of soil organic matter (SOM) formulation for her PhD.
Welcome to the TEE lab Calvin and Xuan!
