As 2025 draws to a close, the Tropical Ecology and Entomology (TEE) Lab came together for a relaxed year-end barbeque to reflect on an eventful and meaningful year. Beyond good food and laughter, the gathering was a moment to celebrate our collective achievements, acknowledge the people behind the work, and look ahead with excitement to what lies ahead.

One of the highlights of the evening was a beautifully curated presentation prepared by Zann Teo (PhD student) and Wan Lin (Project Officer). Their slides took us on a month-by-month journey through 2025, capturing key research milestones, field campaigns, workshops, publications, outreach activities, and behind-the-scenes moments that often go unseen. It was a powerful reminder of how much we have accomplished together as a lab.

2025 has truly been a dynamic year for the TEE Lab. From intensive fieldwork across tropical landscapes to progress in taxonomy, biodiversity monitoring, and ecological research, our team continued to push boundaries while strengthening collaborations locally and internationally. Many of our projects also placed strong emphasis on capacity building and knowledge sharing.

Beyond research, we were proud to see our work gain wider visibility. This year marked a significant increase in media and social media exposure, allowing our research stories, field experiences, and conservation messages to reach broader audiences. These platforms have helped us connect with the public, inspire curiosity about tropical biodiversity, and highlight the importance of long-term ecological research.

As we look ahead to 2026, we carry forward the momentum, sciences, and friendships built over the past year. Thank you to everyone who has been part of TEE Lab’s journey in 2025. Here’s to continued discovery, impact, and growth in the year to come!
