TEE Lab Shines at the XXVII International Congress of Entomology in Kyoto, Japan

The Tropical Ecology & Entomology (TEE) Lab from the Asian School of Environment, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, had an exciting and productive experience at the XXVII International Congress of Entomology (ICE) held at the Kyoto International Conference Center, Japan. This event brought together a remarkable 4,041 participants (4,278 including public attendees) from 82 countries and regions, making it one of the most impressive gatherings of insect enthusiasts, researchers, and conservationists worldwide.

Nine of our TEE lab members shared their research through posters and oral presentations, and engaged in many exciting discussions with other participants. We hope that these exchanges of ideas will lead to future collaborations with the TEE Lab.  A special shoutout goes to our shining stars: Xin Rui Ong, who won the prestigious Presentation Award for Women Scientists (oral), and Calvin Leung, who took home the Presentation Award for Young Scientists (poster). This was truly well-deserved and we are super proud of them!

Through our experience in ICE 2024 Kyoto, we were truly inspired by the overwhelming enthusiasm for insect research. We look forward to future discussions and collaborations that will enhance our understanding of insects and further insect conservation efforts.
