The Tropical Ecology & Entomology Lab (TEE Lab) recently had the honor of hosting Prof. Rudolf Meier from the Berlin Natural History Museum at the Asian School of Environment, NTU. As a leading expert in DNA barcoding and molecular techniques for biodiversity and species discovery, Prof. Meier shared his expertise and inspired exciting discussions on the future of biodiversity research. During his talk, Prof. Meier emphasized the need for baseline biodiversity data obtained through standardized samples and long-term monitoring. He also inspired us to integrate image-based bio-monitoring into our biodiversity research.

Prof. Meier's visit has inspired us to explore sample processing using robotics and machine learning, making biodiversity research more efficient and accessible. These ideas resonated with our goals to integrate innovative methods into our biodiversity research. Stay tuned for updates on how TEE Lab continues to innovate and collaborate from species discovery to ecosystem monitoring!
