[Field Course] Introduction to Field Ecology | Danum Valley, Sabah | 2022 | NTU-ASE

As the academic year of 2021/22 came to a close, the Tropical Ecology and Entomology Lab (TEE Lab) embarked on an adventure to Danum Valley Field Centre (DVFC) in Sabah, Malaysia to conduct a 2-week long field course. As part of the module ES2302: Introduction to Field Ecology, 20 Environmental Earth System Science (EEES) undergraduate students from the Asian School of the Environment (ASE) and 4 postgraduate students from the University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and their lecturer Dr Evan Quah.


From learning various skills for surveying and monitoring biodiversity to exploring a multitude of habitats with varying disturbances, this field course allowed students to experience and acquire knowledge in a completely different environment. This course was organised and led by TEE Lab's PI Dr. Eleanor Slade, PhD student Ong Xin Rui and Project Officer Marx Yim.
