On 19 June 2025,  the Tropical Ecology and Entomology (TEE Lab) welcomed a group of pre-university students at the CoS Science Discovery Camp to spark their interest in ecological science and conservation. The morning began with a lively introductory talk answering the big question: What is ecology? Students learned that ecology is much more than just forests and wildlife. It is the study of how all living things interact with each other and their environment.

The highlight of the morning was a guided lab tour through five different behind-the-scenes stations. Each station provided interactive demonstrations, real-life research stories, and opportunities for the students to ask questions and experience science in action.

We were thrilled to see that the students were so engaged, asking thoughtful questions, and connecting ideas across different stations. It was the first time for some of the students inside a research lab. We hope that it was the beginning of a long-term passion for exploring the science of nature and protecting the environment.
