Warmest congratulations to Dr. Joseph Williamson on his recent achievement - successfully passing his viva on advancing our understanding of dung beetle thermal responses to land use changes.

Dr. Joseph Williamson celebrating with his Dung Beetle-inspired cake!

Dr. Joe Williamson is currently a lecturer in Ecology and Statistics at Queen Mary University of London and was the lead author on one of our latest works on how riparian buffers can act as microclimatic refugia in hostile oil palm plantations (https://doi.org/10.1111/1365-2664.13784). In this study, dung beetles were used as bioindicators to help understand how microclimate impacts the efficacy of riparian buffers as a means of supporting biodiversity. For more exciting updates on Dr. Joe, follow him on twitter @JoeWilliamson93.

Keep doing what you are doing - we are all very proud of you!
