Tang Zhe

GRADUATE STUDENT

Hi!  I am a PhD student at NTU’s Asian School of the Environment. Before  joining NTU, I completed my undergraduate studies at NUS, where I  examined microplastic retention capacities in freshwater macrophytes and  modelled how climate change and market feedback could alter global  cropland distribution, with downstream impacts on carbon storage and  biodiversity.

My  PhD research focuses on using bioacoustics and soundscape analysis to  study biodiversity across forests and urban green spaces in Singapore.  Through my research, I aim to understand how climate change and  anthropogenic noise influence acoustic diversity and species  interactions within tropical urban ecosystems.

When I am free, I enjoy fishkeeping, swimming, and learning new languages. My favourite tea is Osmanthus Oolong Tea.
