MASTERS STUDENT

Hello! I’m Sin Ching, a Masters by Research student at NTU ASE, Resilient and Inclusive Cities Lab. My research assesses the biodiversity performance of green buildings and aims to develop a practical framework for the integration of biodiversity indicators based on biodiversity sensitive urban design and nature positive frameworks into green building standards, aligning with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework to reverse and halt biodiversity losses by 2030.

My academic interests are closely aligned with my passion for biodiversity and ecosystems protection, and the broader challenge of integrating biodiversity conservation with climate action and sustainable urban development. Through my research, I aim to explore practical approaches that can bridge scientific knowledge, spatial analysis and real-world environmental management.

Alongside my studies, I am working as a Senior Environmental and Biodiversity Consultant at Mott MacDonald Singapore, with over seven years of experience delivering environmental and social projects across Asia. My professional experience includes biodiversity assessments, forest inventory surveys, GIS analysis, critical habitat assessments, biodiversity action planning and environmental impact assessments across infrastructure and renewable energy projects
