Jasmine Ong

GRADUATE STUDENT

Hello! I am a PhD student at NTU ASE. My research involves generating high-quality reference genomes for C. renaudpauliani and C. dayacus, two large-bodied dung beetle species, and using comparative genomic analyses to explore evolutionary divergence and potential hybridization in Sabah populations. I also investigate gene-environment associations to understand how these beetles adapt to different microclimates and habitat types.

Outside of work, I enjoy bird watching, reading thrillers, and crocheting. I enjoy infused green teas, with TWG’s Geisha Blossom and Breakfast Yuzu among my favourites.
