Aorui Liu

GRADUATE STUDENT

I’m a Master student at NTU’s ASE, TEE Lab. My background is in  Environmental Science with a focus on sustainable aquaculture and marine  ecology. My Master’s research examines pollinators on rooftop gardens in  Singapore compared with ground-level gardens, focusing on community differences and influencing factors. Looking ahead, I hope to pursue a  PhD on mantises and insect ecology.

Since  childhood, I have been passionate about animals—I raised dog, cat,  hedgehog, different beetles, mantises, parrots, and designed a small  ecological aquarium with fishes, shrimps, and snails. I also enjoy gardening, a love I inherited from my grandmother. My favourite animal  is the red panda, though beetles and mantises remain especially close to my heart.

Outside research, I enjoy exploring nature, playing games, creative writing, listening to music, and watching animal videos on TikTok
